Don't be ruled by length. These days the conventional dress and jacket or coat is still popular, but many mums are also opting for full length dresses with jackets or coats. These are ideal for the evening reception and mean you don't need to buy a second outfit for the dancing!
Wide brimmed hats are generally more flattering - although if you are under 5ft 5in, don't go too large or the hat will engulf you.
Always put a hat on straight - and never be tempted to just stick it at the back of your head. If you want some hair to show, put
your forehead into the hat first and pull hair through at the front.
