For an instant boost on the morning of your wedding why not try one of the new pre-foundation products on the market? Best around are Darphin's Instant Radiance Complex and Clarin's Beauty Flash Balm. Just put them on under your normal foundation and you'll see an immediate effect on your skin.
If you are used to wearing a fairly heavy foundation, beware that it can look out of place with a light-cloured dress and veil. Try mixing your usual foundation with some moisturiser to obtain a lighter, fresher look that should last all day.
If you're going for a facial or using a face mask make sure you do so two weeks before the wedding. Facials and face masks tend to bring out the impurities in the skin - and the last thing you want is a spot on your wedding day!
If the unthinkable happens, however, and you do wake up with a spot on the big day, a dab of tea tree oil will reduce the inflamation. There's also a wonderful product you can buy over the chemist counter called Witch Doctor Rescue Remedy - a very worthwhile investment for the bathroom cabinet.
To cover a stubborn spot either use concealer or create a beauty spot with an eyebrow pencil!
Weddings are emotional occasions and sometimes the night before the tears start to flow... If you wake up in the morning with puffy eyes, mix a potion of water, witchhazel and a drop of lavender essential oil together. Soak cotton pads and place on the eyes for 15 minutes.
If you feel tearful on the day and are scared your mascara will run, here's the perfect rememdy... Use your usual mascara but apply Estee Lauder's Raincoat over the top. It's a waterproofing agent that comes in a wand and doesn't make your eyelashes feel thick or cloggy.
To give your lipstick real staying power, apply your foundation and powder to lips first. Next use your lip liner and, as well as outlining your lips, use the pencil to gently score over your lips. Only then add your lipstick.
If you have dark circles under your eyes the best three concealers around are: Ooh la Lift by Benefits; Touche Eclair by YSL and Lancome's Palette Mix.
Stick to powder eye shadow on the big day as cream shadows tend to crease.
For a shimmery, dreamy effect on your cheekbones or neckline, go for Mac's Silver Dust. A little goes a long way and it gives a lovely sparkle without being too over the top.
Once you're make up's done and your hair's looking perfect, take a good long look at yourself in the mirror, breath deeply and relax. All the preparation's done and you're all set to enjoy your day. Good luck!
